Our Little Turnip - 17 weeks

This week the baby is approximately 5 inches long and weighs about 5 ounces, about that of a turnip, which is twice the weight since my last update. It is amazing how fast he/she is growing.

I'm still feeling pretty good and definitely better than I did first trimester, especially since I don't have any more food aversions or nausea. The down-side of that is now that I enjoy food again, I have to watch what I eat so I don't overdo it. I am still trying to hide the belly under loose fitting tops at least with my work clothes, since I have yet to tell my boss. I keep saying that I'll do it next week, and then another week goes by...next week for sure :)

A new old Teddy Bear

30 years ago this was my old Teddy Bear, now it will be our baby's first stuffed animal (well, first stuffed animal that doesn't quack and rock)

This little guy showed up at our door last week freshly cleaned and refurbished. It was a very special Father-to-be Day present.

Thank you Mom!

Apple

Since the baby is the size of an apple this week, that is what we are calling him/her.
He/she is about 4 inches and a whopping 2 1/2 ounces (wish that was the total amount of weight I gained). We can't wait until our next doctor's visit when we find out the gender (at 18 weeks), so we can stop typing he/she on these blog entries.

Doctors Appt -14.5 weeks

This is Dr. Madzivire with Mae Ellen. Dr. M is a very practical and down to earth doctor. She has been great in making us feel comfortable and at ease. Seeing as how we are first time parents, everything tends to freak us out more than it should and Dr. M always lightens the mood and reminds us that everything is going to be fine.

Everything went well today. We heard the heartbeat and we could even hear the baby moving! Dr. M. said the baby was very active (oh no) and that everything was on track

14 weeks

Today is 14 weeks! The belly is definitely getting more round, and many of my clothes don't fit anymore. Even though no one else can really tell, I can. At least, I hope no one else can tell because I haven't shared the news at the office yet. Thankfully, since I work with mostly men, I'm not too worried about them observing anything different. :)
